Litigation Associate

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in insurance defense litigation to join a growing civil litigation practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who has been licensed to practice law for approximately 5 years and is looking to manage a diverse caseload while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Develop case strategy and provide legal analysis to clients.
• Draft and argue motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and represent clients in negotiations and mediations.
• Collaborate with partners and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel.
  
  

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission with approximately 5 years of licensure required.
• Minimum 4-7 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on insurance defense litigation.
• Experience handling cases independently through various stages of litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Trial experience is a plus but not required.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional state Bar admissions are a plus.
• Experience representing insurance carriers and insured clients in complex civil litigation matters.
