Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology medications.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor for treatment-related reactions.
- Provide IV and port access and maintain vascular devices.
- Review labs and communicate patient concerns with providers.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments and side effects.
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
- Follow medication safety, USP 800, and infection-control standards.
- Collaborate with providers and the multidisciplinary care team.
- Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Active Oregon RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
- Oncology/infusion experience preferred.
- Current IV access proficiency required.
- BLS certification required within 2 months of hire.
- OCN certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Day shift
- 4 × 10-hour shifts: 7:00 AM-5:30 PM OR
- 5 × 8-hour shifts: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- No regular nights, weekends, or on-call requirements.
- Adult oncology patients
- 8-hour shift: typically 6-10 patients
- 10-hour shift: typically 8-12 patients
- Standard expectation: approximately 6-7 patients for 8-hour shifts and 8-9 for 10-hour shifts, depending on treatment complexity.
