Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care services under medical supervision across assigned clinical areas.
- Assess patients' respiratory conditions and administer prescribed therapies.
- Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using blood gas analysis equipment.
- Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient conditions.
- Respond to emergencies and codes, providing appropriate respiratory interventions.
- Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and available support resources.
- Follow established clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in staff orientation, in-service education, and training as assigned.
- Supervise or support other respiratory care practitioners when required.
- Maintain respiratory equipment, supplies, and medical gas cylinders.
- Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment.
- Contribute to quality improvement by evaluating respiratory care practices and patient outcomes.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and applicable state licensure.
- Knowledge of respiratory care procedures, equipment, and patient monitoring.
