This role will primarily focus on construction litigation and contract-related disputes, with an emphasis on first-party and insurance defense matters.
Responsibilties
- Handle construction litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Represent contractors, developers, property owners, and related parties in disputes
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Draft, review, and argue motions
- Take and defend depositions
- Assist with trial preparation and case strategy
- Review and analyze construction contracts and related agreements
- Handle first-party insurance and coverage disputes related to construction claims
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- 2-6 years of civil litigation experience
- Texas Bar license required
- Construction litigation experience preferred
- Experience in insurance defense or first-party claims is a strong plus
- Experience with construction contracts or commercial contract disputes
- Exposure to real estate or employment litigation (nice to have)
- Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
- Deposition experience preferred
- Ability to manage litigation matters independently
