Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Successfully implement network and device maintenance requests.
- Assist in network migration project. In creating documentation and writing MOPs and turning up circuits.
- Provide high-level technical & engineering feedback for network performance management configurations, troubleshooting, and service restoration along with an understanding of switching, and routing as it would affect performance management.
- Work with network vendor providers troubleshooting and administering network devices.
- Monitor and analyze performance across networks and underlying automation deployments.
- Develop and oversee technical methods, procedures, and assist with complex solution design feedback.
- Develop & document process flows.
- Contribute to advancing current knowledge base for network device troubleshooting, design, and support documentation.
- Identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of systems.
- Provide ideas and improvements for automated systems towards improving network operation efficiencies.
- Properly document network issue resolution and identification through operational ticketing systems
- Maintain network monitoring applications, equipment and utilities as needed.
- Act as liaison between customer facing teams, network operations centers, vendor support teams, and peer networks as needed
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia platforms
- Layers 2 & 3 switch and router configuration and management.
- Advanced understanding of internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF.
- Experience with isolation of telecom and/or network outage causes and service restorations
- Advanced customer service, organizational interaction, and teamwork skills
- Proficient and proven knowledge base in DNS, scripting applications related to network architecture and support
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Contract Position
- Location – Remote
- Pay range - $48 - $56/hr
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C.
- 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
