Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for an Engineering Technician 3 with our client located in Norcross, Georgia.
Job Description:
- This role will involve qualifying and servicing internally owned functional test fixtures.
- Responsibilities will include software updates, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration.
- The role requires technical expertise, experience, and the ability to make independent decisions.
- The candidate should demonstrate competency to perform the duties of an Engineering Technician.
- Additionally, the role necessitates the ability to coordinate repairs with operations and other engineering disciplines to minimize downtime.
- Candidates must be highly motivated with a strong sense of shared responsibility as well as a commitment to high product quality.
- Perform IQOQ on operation and engineering-owned fixtures.
- Coordinate qualification activities with operations/lab owners to ensure that each fixture is up to date and in good working order.
- Perform a quick triage of the issues and recommend the best action to limit downtime.
- Perform simple reworks on the spot (cable crimping, soldering components, tapping threads, cleaning optics, adjusting alignments, etc.).
- Document all activities in support of our formal records.
- Order parts and assemble/bring up duplicate fixtures for operation.
- Assist or execute engineering-level tests and collect data to support the design of experiment activities or characterize an assembly.
- Assist with parts order, build, and modification of development fixtures for evaluation.
- Generate or assist in the implementation of Engineering Change orders.
- Follows all corporate safety, SOP, DOP procedures, and regulations.
- Understand problems, areas of risk, and areas for improvement within the work unit, including the processes and procedures.
- Perform other engineering technician duties as needed.
- Significant experience with wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to perform complex technical tasks on various electrical/electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheet applications for documentation and data presentation.
- Ability to read, modify, and execute test scripts used for debugging.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to various technologies that allow effective troubleshooting. Examples: Digital and Analog Electronics components, optical components, servo components, machined parts, sheet metal parts, cable assemblies.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required to partner effectively with operation techs, supervisors, the training department, and Manufacturing/Design/Test Engineers.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
- Experience with JIRA, Agile, and SAP or equivalent tools
- Effectively use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, custom test platforms.
- Document investigation findings in quality notifications, which are part of official Device History Records.
- Electronic and Mechanical assembly skills (Examples: soldering, crimping, box building, fiber handling, optical component handling, cable routing, and use of RTV/epoxy).
- Required Education and Training
- AS degree, trade school, military technical training. A B.S. EE/Comp E or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of eight years of troubleshooting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Pay Rate Range:$34.10-$39.10/hr.
- Location: Norcross, Georgia.
