We have a full-time opportunity (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm) for a Facilities Manager at our location in Pembroke, MA.

Under the direction of the CEO, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of Protectowire’s facility and surrounding residential properties. This is a working manager position—the ideal candidate will be highly hands-on, performing a wide variety of maintenance and landscaping tasks themselves while coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adhere to a comprehensive maintenance schedule for buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Identify and address maintenance concerns, ensuring systems are properly maintained and operational.
  • Receive, manage, and process work requests, ensuring timely problem resolution.
  • Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, clearing, planting, and overall upkeep.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, including fueling, oil changes, lubrication, and routine repairs.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including tractors, loaders, and power tools.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or services as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and re-order as needed.
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal, sanding, and clearing walkways to ensure safe conditions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess the mobility, strength, and stamina to work in outdoor and indoor environments, perform medium to heavy physical labor, and operate tools and machinery.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to handle, control, and operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in property upkeep, landscaping, and general maintenance.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools and operating machinery.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security).
  • Experience managing vendors and coordinating with contractors.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, initiative, and decision-making skills within established guidelines.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
  • Experience handling animals in a humane and compassionate manner is a plus.

Internal/External Interactions:

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with employees, vendors, and external contractors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Pay Range:

$72,686 - $105,679

Final pay is determined using market data in alignment with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
