Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Vista, CA. This position oversees all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. The Controller prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, monitors budgeting and forecasting activities, and analyzes variances to support informed decision-making. Responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies, and coordinating external audits. The role also partners with plant management and leadership to provide financial insights, improve cost efficiency, and support strategic and operational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management and preparation of financial statements.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and performance tracking.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and manufacturing finance processes, ideally within an industrial or production environment.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, as well as solid Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting role; experience in manufacturing or engineering-focused companies is a plus.
