Protégé seeks a motivated full-time pastry chef de partie to join our Michelin-starred brigade.
We are a Michelin-starred, upscale-casual restaurant located in Palo Alto. Our culture fosters genuine hospitality, professional growth, and we place enormous value on teamwork, professionalism and personal respect.
This role involves working alongside our pastry chef to produce an ambitious assortment of breads and sweets for our seasonally driven a la carte dessert trolley, ice cream program and 7-course tasting menus. As such, a commanding knowledge, or motivation to gain kowledge of, pastry production/service, ice cream and sorbet production, tart and pie doughs, etc. is encouraged. This position is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards and a clean workspace. We are looking for the right attitude, not necessarily experience level or abillity. We are here to mentor, teach, train and ensure success.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of professional kitchen experience, but as our name implies, we're looking for individuals who we can mentor and help to reach their full potential. A passion for learning and the desire to grow is essential! We are looking for a positive attitude, desire to learn, passion for our craft and a sense or urgency-we can teach you the rest!
