Duties
- Co-lead and support a team of 8-15 employees
- Support the hiring, the team training & new hire
- Plans, delegates and follows up on expected tasks, assignments and activities to ensure expectations and objectives are met
- Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies to ensure that necessary products are available when needed
- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food preparation meets safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and create innovative dessert offerings.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, using various techniques and tools.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests regarding menu items and special requests.
Skills
- Proficient in pastry techniques, including baking, cake decorating, and food preparation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Experience in catering or large-scale food production is a plus.
- A passion for culinary arts and creativity in dessert design.
