Job Description
Prosperity Social & Community Development Group, Inc. (PSCDG) is a non-profit organization that provides services to the underserved residents of Miami-Dade County. PSCDG’s mission is to provide meaningful opportunities that will stimulate and revitalize social and economic development in underserved communities throughout Miami-Dade County, working with individuals marginalized in our society, including minority groups, immigrants, women, teen-girls, the homeless and ex-offenders.
The Youth Counselor will play a key role in providing supervision and assistance to pre-K-5 grade students in the Afterschool and Summer Programs. The Afterschool and Summer Programs provide academic support to students for which English is their second language.
Afterschool Program Responsibilities
- Provide homework assistance in all subjects, particularly reading, math, and science
- Supervise group of 30-40 students
- Assist students with time management and accuracy of homework
- Serve snack
Summer Program Responsibilities
- Supervise group of 30-40 students, including field trips
- Serve breakfast, lunch and snacks
- Provide individual/group support during daily 2-hour academic learning period
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- CPR Certification preferred
- Verbal communication in Creole or Spanish preferred
Required Abilities / Physical Requirements
- Must be available during the school year from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
- Must be available during the summer from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
