We are seeking a Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist to support a growing accounting team. This temp-to-hire role is ideal for accounting professionals with experience in accounts payable processing, invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, general ledger support, and month-end close.
The position supports core accounting operations including AP processing, financial reporting support, fixed asset tracking, payroll assistance, and ERP accounting systems. Candidates with strong Excel skills and accounting software experience will excel in this role.
Responsibilities
- Process and review vendor invoices; ensure accuracy and documentation
- Code invoices using job numbers, cost types, and cost codes
- Manage AP approvals and assist with weekly check runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Support 1099 compliance and corporate credit card reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset records and capital equipment inventory
- Record depreciation and reconcile prepaid accounts
- Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Support month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Prepare inter-company billings and support bi-weekly payroll
- Sync subcontractor commitments, budgets, and change orders
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 2 years of accounting or accounts payable experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and G-Suite
- Experience with Foundation accounting software or Procore preferred
