Job Description
- Inspect fabricated metal parts for proper dimensions, workmanship, and overall quality.
- Review blueprints, drawings, work orders, and customer specifications.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Perform in-process and final inspections.
- Identify defects, dimensional issues, and other nonconforming products.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Communicate quality concerns to production employees and supervisors.
- Assist with determining the cause of quality issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Verify that completed products meet requirements before shipment.
- Ensure measuring and inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Assist with other quality or production duties as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of basic inspection methods and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with production employees and management.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around machinery, noise, and metal materials in a manufacturing environment.
