Job Description
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical production equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
- Maintain equipment such as punch presses, press brakes, saws, conveyors, motors, and other metal fabrication machinery.
- Troubleshoot motors, sensors, switches, relays, electrical panels, and control systems.
- Repair or replace bearings, belts, chains, gears, pumps, valves, and other mechanical components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment safely.
- Assist with equipment installation, setup, and modifications.
- Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential problems before breakdowns occur.
- Document completed repairs, maintenance activities, and replacement parts.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools and commonly used parts.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all other safety requirements.
- Assist with general building and facility maintenance as needed.
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment is a plus.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
- Basic welding or fabrication experience is helpful.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, and mechanical components.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to equipment issues.
- Dependable attendance and effective communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around machinery, electrical equipment, noise, heat, and metal materials.
