Are you an experienced Medical Biller who enjoys solving problems, working through insurance challenges, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes?
Axis HealthCare is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing team in Bixby!
We’re looking for someone who understands the ins and outs of medical billing and isn’t afraid to dig into a denied claim, communicate with insurance companies, and help patients understand their accounts.
What You’ll Do
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Submit electronic and paper insurance claims accurately and on time
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims and submit appeals when needed
- Post and reconcile insurance payments and resolve discrepancies
- Bill secondary and tertiary insurance carriers
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding claims, balances, and payments
- Assist patients with payment plans and account questions
- Maintain accurate billing records and reports
- Protect patient information and maintain HIPAA compliance
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/PPO plans, and insurance billing
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a busy environment
- A positive, team-focused attitude
