Job Description
We are seeking a Collection Specialist with experience in bank collections and customer interactions. The ideal candidate will handle both inbound and outbound collection calls, work with customers to resolve delinquent accounts, and develop effective strategies to recover outstanding balances while maintaining regulatory compliance.
This role requires strong communication, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to help members understand their financial situations and establish mutually agreeable payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound collection calls to engage with customers regarding delinquent accounts.
- Conduct 100 phone interactions daily to understand customers’ financial circumstances and provide customized repayment solutions.
- Analyze delinquent accounts to identify root causes and develop effective collection strategies.
- Negotiate and establish payment plans and financial assistance solutions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, payment commitments, and collection activities in the system.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal collections regulations.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, Windows-based environment while meeting performance metrics.
- Service inbound and outbound calls across product lines using automated and manual dialing systems.
- Perform account verification and maintenance tasks with high attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role such as collections, customer service, sales, account management, education, or counseling.
- Experience in bank collections (inbound & outbound calling).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to identify causes of delinquency and recommend solutions.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a high-volume call environment.
- Proficiency in Windows-based computer applications and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
