Travel Registered Nurse – OR
Oneonta, New York | Day Shift
Start Dates: 10/26/2026 or 11/9/2026
13-Week Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
40 Hours/Week | 5x8s
Weekly Gross: $3,000
Pay Package:
- $43.85/hr
- $65.78/hr OT
- $1,246 weekly per diem
No weekends. No holidays.
About the OR:
This OR department operates 6 operating rooms, with up to 4 rooms running daily. The unit performs approximately 15–30 surgical cases per day, with higher volumes typically occurring on cataract surgery days.
Case specialties include:
- General Surgery
- GI/Endoscopy
- Plastics
- Robotic Da Vinci
- Gynecology
- Urology
- Orthopedic Total Joints and Sports
- ENT
- Cataracts
The patient population is primarily healthy and elective, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced OR RN.
RN Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room
- Circulate surgical cases
- Scrub experience preferred, but not required
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical staff
- Provide safe and efficient care throughout the surgical process
Call Requirements:
- Call is Monday–Friday from 3:30 PM–6:00 PM only
- Typically assigned 1–2 times per week
- No call cases are scheduled past 6:00 PM
- Rarely, staff may need to remain beyond 6:00 PM if a surgery is still in progress
Schedule & Holiday Information:
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- No night shifts
- No weekends
- No holiday coverage
- Department is closed on holidays
Orientation & Support:
Travelers receive a dedicated preceptor during their first week to assess skills and provide workflow support. During the following week, skills are reassessed to determine readiness to work independently or whether additional support is needed.
EMR: EPIC
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- OR experience required
- Strong circulating skills preferred
- Scrub experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
