Aerospace Software Verification Engineer
Location: Rockford, Illinois (Onsite Only)
Salary: $60/hr(TPC) or 100K on FTE
Experience: 7–10 Years
US Citizens & Green Card Holders only (ITAR compliant role)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Software Verification Engineer to support safety-critical software testing and verification activities for aerospace systems. The role involves working in a highly regulated environment ensuring compliance with aerospace certification standards and robust software validation practices.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong experience in Aerospace domain software verification
- Mandatory experience with Comms Bus protocols: TTP, ARINC 429 (A429)
- Hands-on experience with DO-178C software development and verification standards
- Experience in Hardware/Software Integration Testing (HSIT), module level & low-level testing
- Strong knowledge of Data Coupling & Control Coupling Analysis (DCCCA)
- Experience in Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA)
- Exposure to requirements-based testing and test case design
- Tools experience:
- Polarion (mandatory)
- DOORS (mandatory)
- Programming/scripting experience in TCL and/or Python (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze software requirements and develop detailed test cases
- Design and execute verification tests on hardware/software platforms
- Document test results and identify deviations from expected behavior
- Report, track, and support resolution of software defects
- Perform code coverage analysis aligned with DO-178C standards
- Maintain full traceability between requirements, design, and test cases
- Prepare detailed verification reports and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with system, software, and development teams
- Support certification activities for aerospace compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or avionics domain experience
- Exposure to safety-critical embedded systems
- Experience working in regulated environments (DO-178B/C certified projects)
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
Important Note
This is an ITAR-regulated position, so only US Citizens and Green Card holders are eligible.
