Project HOPE is providing humanitarian assistance to the conflict-affected population in Gaza. The current response portfolio focuses on Health, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Protection, and WASH programming through Project HOPE programs and local partnerships.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Assistant provides operational and physical support to warehouse activities for Project HOPE funded projects in Gaza under the supervision of the Warehouse Officer. The position supports proper handling, storage, and dispatch of medical supplies, equipment, and project materials while maintaining basic stock records and ensuring compliance with warehouse procedures in a highly constrained and volatile operating environment.
This position is being advertised contingent upon award; while the recruitment process will proceed as part of organizational preparedness, no formal offer will be extended until funding is confirmed.

Principal Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Support
- Support daily warehouse activities including receipt, storage, packing, and dispatch of goods.
- Assist with loading and offloading of supplies and ensure safe handling of items.
- Store goods in assigned locations according to warehouse layout and storage standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety within the warehouse premises.
- Support preparation of dispatches based on approved requests.
- Assist in arranging items on shelves, pallets, or storage areas.
- Support labeling and identification of stored items.
- Help separate and organize items by batch number, expiry date, and program use.
- Report damaged, missing, or expired items immediately to the Warehouse Officer.
- Assist in preparing and updating basic warehouse documents such as GRNs, stock cards, and dispatch notes.
- Support filing of warehouse documents in an organized manner.
- Assist in physical stock counts and spot checks as required.
- Help prepare stock movement forms and delivery paperwork.
- Support warehouse preparation for deliveries and dispatches with logistics teams.
- Assist in moving items between storage areas and loading zones.
- Support confirmation of deliveries and collection of signed waybills when required.
- Inform the Warehouse Officer of any delays, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Follow Project HOPE warehouse procedures and handling standards at all times.
- Adhere to safety measures including use of protective equipment when required.
- Ensure no unauthorized access to stored items.
- Promote proper handling of medical and sensitive supplies.
- Diploma/Bachelor Degree or equivalent; warehouse or logistics training is an asset.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, storekeeping, or similar work, preferably in NGO or humanitarian settings.
- Basic understanding of stock handling and storage practices.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move goods safely.
- Ability to work in restricted and high-risk operating environments.
- Honest, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Basic reading and writing skills; basic computer skills are an asset.
