At Project FoodBox, we're transforming healthcare through Food as Medicine. We partner with health plans and community organizations to deliver medically tailored groceries to individuals managing chronic conditions, helping improve health outcomes while addressing food insecurity.
We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and month-end close. This role works closely with our Controller and plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's continued growth.
What you'll do:
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, and 1099 preparation
• Support Accounts Receivable, revenue recognition, and intercompany billings
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations while maintaining supporting schedules
• Support financial reporting, audits, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency
What we're looking for:
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with general ledger and month-end close responsibilities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
• Experience with ERP systems such as Famous or similar platforms
• Experience with Ramp or other expense management systems
• Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting
