Please visit our website at: www.projectfind.org.Job Summary:TheFirstCookwillfacilitatedaily meal preparation, food serviceneeds and requirements,coordinategeneral kitchenmaintenance;andprovide task management forthe second cook,kitchen aides,internsand volunteers on duty.Responsibilities include:Prepares and cooksappealing,nutritious and tasty mealsdaily, according toNYC Agingspre-planned menu.Supervises food service and tray line servicefor congregate meal programs.Providesprimary oversight and delegatestask management forSecond Cook,KitchenAide,internsandvolunteers onduty.Collaboratively ensures andmaintainsa clean kitchenenvironment,according tothe NYSDepartment of Mental HealthandHygiene (NYSDOH) and NYC Aging standards.Prepares and delegatesweeklycleaning and meal prepschedules for the kitchenstaff/team.Prepare and serve mealsin accordance withtheNYSDOH andHealth andNYC Agingstandards.Collaborate withProgram Director/Coordinatoronspecial eventswhich requirespecial meal planning.Responsible forcoordinating receipt and storage offoodordersandmonitoring of kitchen deliveries.Work cooperatively with the assigned food service manager to completedaily foodusedrecords, monthlyinventory,and other food program related records asrequired.Collaborate with the Food Service Manager, Director and membershiptoward the developmentof olderadult center menuplanning.Work collaboratively with the Food Service Manager to ensure that equipment is clean and operational; report any malfunctioning equipment as needed.Provide staff support/coverage at sister sites as needed.Perform other relevant duties as assigned by theFood Service Manager.Qualifications: Required:Associatesdegreeandtwoyearsof experience asacook, preferablyin a commercial setting (hospital,school, nursing home, etc.)orthreeyears of experience as a cook ina similar settingor related field.NYS DOHMH Food Protection Certification.Ability to multi-task and work independently.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, whilemaintaininga healthy and productive working environment.Preferred:Supervisory experience is a plus.Knowledgeofthe NYC food standards requirements as well asNYSDOHMH food safety guidelines.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.AED/CPRcertified.Project FIND participates in E-Verify, which confirms employment authorization through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
