What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Support position at Project Chesapeake?
Hours:
- Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm
Billing Support is directly responsible for the obtaining authorizations, submitting claims, and verifying eligibility benefits.
Essential functions:
- Work directly with the Billing Manager
- Obtain initial and concurrent authorizations for all programs and levels of care and for all insurance payers
- Review and release claims from BestNotes, our electronical medical records software (“EMR”), to EZ Claim, our billing management software
- Submit claims from EZ Claim to the various insurance payers, either by direct submission (Maryland Medicaid) or through our clearinghouse (Medicare and Private Insurance)
- Determine benefits eligibility for all new clients in advance of their initial appointments and input the information into the EMR
- Work closely with the administrative and clinical staff at all program locations when additional information is needed to obtain authorizations
- Be available to administrative and clinical staff at all program locations to help answer billing-related questions
- Sending patient statements
- Fulfilling requests for medical records
- Updating and sending client balances to the outpatient offices
- Any other administrative-related tasks that may be requested

Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
· 2 years of medical billing experience preferred but not required.
· Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance providers preferred

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
