We have an opportunity for a Survey Coordinator in Glen Allen, VA who will be responsible for overseeing and managing land surveying projects with a primary area of focus on utility engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in CAD, construction stakeout, project management & survey regulations in VA & NC. Qualifications:
- 2 years field experience, 3-5 years office experience in surveying.
- Full knowledge of Virginia or North Carolina State Land Survey Regulations.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Extensive experience in construction stakeout.
- Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and make precise decisions.
- Proficient in personal computer skills and various software applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures.
- Experience with various GIS software and applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
- Valid professional land surveyor license in Virginia and/or North Carolina is preferred.
- Conduct and oversee land surveying projects in compliance with Virginia Land Survey Regulations.
- Utilize CAD software to create accurate and detailed survey drawings and plans.
- Lead and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Perform construction stakeout and layout for various construction projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surveyors and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to make precise and informed decisions.
- Utilize Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures for accurate surveying.
- Work with various GIS software and applications to collect, analyze, and interpret geographical data.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members through strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain detailed and organized project documentation and records.
