Land Surveyor

We have an opportunity for a Survey Coordinator in Glen Allen, VA who will be responsible for overseeing and managing land surveying projects with a primary area of focus on utility engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in CAD, construction stakeout, project management & survey regulations in VA & NC. Qualifications:

• 2 years field experience, 3-5 years office experience in surveying.
• Full knowledge of Virginia or North Carolina State Land Survey Regulations.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Extensive experience in construction stakeout.
• Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and make precise decisions.
• Proficient in personal computer skills and various software applications.
• Strong working knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures.
• Experience with various GIS software and applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
• Valid professional land surveyor license in Virginia and/or North Carolina is preferred.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and oversee land surveying projects in compliance with Virginia Land Survey Regulations.
• Utilize CAD software to create accurate and detailed survey drawings and plans.
• Lead and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
• Perform construction stakeout and layout for various construction projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surveyors and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to make precise and informed decisions.
• Utilize Global Positioning System (GPS) practices and procedures for accurate surveying.
• Work with various GIS software and applications to collect, analyze, and interpret geographical data.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members through strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain detailed and organized project documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
