What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Vault Software Administrator position at Progressive?
We are seeking a skilled CAD Vault Software Administrator in Glen Allen, VA to manage and enhance CAD systems, specifically focusing on Autodesk Vault. Will ensure smooth operation, improve workflows, and provide support to engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation, configuration, and upgrade of Autodesk Vault.
- Maintain and monitor system performance and security.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and roles within the Vault environment.
- Provide technical support for CAD users and resolve software-related issues.
- Collaborate with IT to address hardware and software conflicts.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of issues and ensure timely resolutions.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for new and existing users on CAD systems and Autodesk Vault.
- Create and maintain user manuals and documentation for workflows and processes.
- Work on automating workflows and optimizing the use of Autodesk Vault and associated CAD tools.
- Integrate Vault with other enterprise systems as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to understand and implement their CAD needs.
- Communicate changes in workflows or software updates to all stakeholders.
- Manage data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery plans for CAD and Vault data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding data storage and usage.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Autodesk Vault and CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, etc.).
- Strong understanding of database management and file management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Autodesk Certified Professional
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scripting or programming to automate tasks (e.g., VBA, .NET).
- Strong Knowledge of other PDM/PLM solutions and CAD software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices in CAD and data management.
- Familiarity with Utility industry standards including but not limited to Substation Design, Transmission, Generation and Distribution.
