Sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate parts within desired specifications of a work order.

Sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate parts within desired specifications of a work order.
Essential Functions
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine machining sequences and setup requirements.
- Deburring of parts before moving to the next operations
- Inspect completed parts using metrology equipment to perform first-article-inspection (FAI), in-process, and final piece inspections. All results are recorded and made available to the quality department.
- Maintain inventory of raw materials needed for fabrication.
- Assist with shipping of parts to include palletizing, strapping, wrapping, and labeling. Includes use of pallet jack to move skids.
- Prepare required inspection and production reports as required.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Oversee work of other CNC Operators as assigned.
- Performs assigned preventive maintenance duties.
- Performs any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Observe safety procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Related Vocational or associate degree with 3 to 5 years work experience as a CNC Operator/Programmer or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work with machine controls and perform at machine simple edits.
- Experience programming Virtual Gibbs or MasterCam. (Preferred)
- Perform an inspection as required
- Ability to work with machine controls and perform at machine simple edits.
- Proficiency with tooling and fixtures setup
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, calculate figures, apply concepts of basic algebra
- Knowledge on how to make work-holding devices
- Ability to establish tool length and fixtures offsets
- Ability to run and edit CNC programs
- Good communication skills required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
