Position Summary
The Service Supervisor (Registered Nurse) is responsible for the clinical oversight and supervision of in-home aide services, ensuring that care is delivered safely, appropriately, and in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.
This role provides professional supervision to caregivers, supports client care planning, and ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements governing non-medical home care services.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Supervision
- Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, as required
- Develop, review, and update plans of care in collaboration with clients and families
- Provide supervision of in-home aides to ensure services are delivered safely and appropriately
- Perform supervisory visits in accordance with regulatory requirements
Staff Supervision & Support
- Provide guidance, training, and oversight to caregivers
- Evaluate caregiver performance related to care delivery and safety
- Support onboarding and orientation of new caregivers
- Address concerns related to caregiver performance and escalate as needed
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure services align with the approved plan of care
- Monitor compliance with agency policies and procedures
- Participate in incident review and follow-up
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as a clinical resource for caregivers and administrative staff
- Communicate with clients, families, and external providers as appropriate
- Collaborate with the Agency Director to ensure quality and continuity of care
Alignment with C.A.R.E. Framework
- Reinforce relational care practices across all caregiver interactions
- Support caregivers in delivering care that prioritizes dignity, trust, and emotional awareness
- Integrate quality observation and feedback into supervision practices
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience (home care experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of care planning, supervision, and documentation
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership in a field-based environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
