Position Overview:
Professional Home Improvement (PHI) is a locally owned and operated exterior remodeling company with over 40 years of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Known for integrity, transparency, and quality, PHI holds an A BBB rating and hundreds of 5-star reviews across Chicagoland.
We are expanding our sales team and seeking motivated, competitive candidates who want a long-term career in high-ticket home improvement sales. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in face-to-face interaction, consultative selling, and performance-based earnings.
Lead Flow & Sales Process
One of the biggest concerns experienced sales candidates have on job boards is lead quality — so we want to be transparent about how you win business at PHI.
In this role, you will work a consistent sales process that includes:
- Working assigned territories and neighborhoods
- Lead generation through scheduled appointments and neighborhood outreach (based on marketing/territory needs)
- Using a CRM to manage pipeline and follow-up
- Conducting inspections and delivering in-home consultations
- Guiding homeowners through insurance and/or financing options when applicable
Key Responsibilities
- Engage homeowners in assigned areas to identify exterior remodeling needs or storm-related damage
- Perform detailed exterior home inspections including:
- Roofing
- Siding
- Gutters
- Windows
- Soffit and fascia
- Educate homeowners on product options, energy efficiency, and long-term home protection
- Deliver consultative in-home presentations using measuring/estimating software
- Manage your pipeline: follow-up, quotes, objections, and closing
- Maintain excellent customer experience from first contact through signed agreement
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong work ethic and goal-oriented mindset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing ladder/roof-level inspections
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to handle rejection and overcome objections professionally
- Availability to work evenings and Saturdays
Preferred (Not Required):
- Prior experience in outside sales, in-home sales, or commission-based sales
- Experience selling high-ticket services such as:
- Roofing / siding / windows
- HVAC
- Solar
- Foundation / waterproofing
- Construction or restoration services
- Comfort working a consultative “inspection → presentation → close” sales cycle
