Personal Care Assistant

Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. This position involves providing compassionate care and support to clients in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. Your dedication to patient care will help ensure that clients feel comfortable, safe, and valued.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' conditions.
• Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
• Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the living environment.
• Support clients with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Engage in patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health status.
• Provide personal care services in accordance with HIPAA regulations and best practices.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

Skills

• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Experience in group homes, assisted living, or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
• Strong patient observation skills to monitor health status effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
• Knowledge of home health care practices and hospice care principles.
• Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs.
• Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual client needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
