Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' conditions.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the living environment.
- Support clients with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage in patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health status.
- Provide personal care services in accordance with HIPAA regulations and best practices.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Skills
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in group homes, assisted living, or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
- Strong patient observation skills to monitor health status effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Knowledge of home health care practices and hospice care principles.
- Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual client needs.
