Overview
Process Service Specialists, headquartered in Gonzales, LA, is a leading provider of turnaround, maintenance, and fabrication services to the petrochemical, refining and natural gas industry along the Gulf Coast as well as a competitive provider of construction services for mid-cap customers nationwide. Our rapidly growing company is searching for an Area Safety Manager. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day health, safety, and environmental operations and administration of our Lake Charles Field Services Division and our Lake Charles Fabrication Shop while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Work Location: In person; based in Lake Charles, LA fabrication shop
Travel: Travel to field projects within 60 miles of Lake Charles is expected to be up to 50%. Travel to Gonzales, LA main office can be expected at least once per quarter.
Schedule: Base schedule Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week. Project requirements or incident response may require after hours and weekends.
Reports to: Director of EHS
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute regional safety strategies aligned with corporate goals
- Lead safety initiatives at our Lake Charles fabrication facility and supported field project locations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations related to environmental, health, and safety, e.g.-OSHA, EPA, MSHA, and other relevant regulations
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
- Track, analyze, and report safety trends to management
- Design and deliver safety training programs to employees
- Mentor site safety coordinators and technicians
- Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses
- Manage all employee injuries from beginning of the incident until final release and closure
- Ensure timely reporting and closure of incident investigations and oversee implementation of corrective actions
- Develop, review, maintain and support implementation of Site EHS Plans at supported fabrication shops and field project sites
- Oversee PPE distribution and compliance
- Collaborate with operations and employees to foster a safety-first culture
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and emergency response teams
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 7 years of combined safety management experience in petrochemical, industrial, and supporting fabrication facilities
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, process safety management, and fabrication safety practices
- Proficient in HSE data analysis and presenting HSE data and trends for consumption by company leadership
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Complete satisfactory drug, alcohol, and criminal background screenings
- Speak, read and write the English language
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality related to company and employee records
- Proficient is computer operation and cloud-based file maintenance
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook (email), Adobe Acrobat (pdfs)
Preferred:
- 10 years of combined safety management experience in petrochemical, industrial, and supporting fabrication facilities
- CSP, CHST, or similar certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- Speak, read and write the Spanish language

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
