This full-time role is based in a high school environment, serving students ages 14–21. You’ll make a meaningful impact on students with a range of challenges—including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and various genetic disorders—many of whom are non-verbal and depend on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Through your work, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and specialists, expanding your expertise, sharpening your leadership skills, and building new professional networks.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Possession of or eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Experience with school-based services, preferably in high school settings
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and non-verbal communication strategies
  • Comfortable working with students with significant disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to assigned students
  • Support individualized communication needs, especially for AAC users
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to design and implement effective interventions
  • Document ongoing progress and participate in IEP meetings
  • Educate staff on best practices in communication support
