This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher with a focus on serving students with cognitive impairments. The role is contract-based and located in Wyoming, MI, serving the K-12 population at the Ottawa Area Center. Candidates must hold an MDE Cognitively Impaired teaching certificate to qualify.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to students with cognitive impairments across K-12 grade levels.
Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet state standards.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to optimize learning.
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement.
Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
Valid MDE Cognitively Impaired teaching certificate required.
Experience teaching special education students in K-12 settings preferred.
