Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position is part-time (.5 FTE) and requires in-person instruction, allowing you to focus deeply on student progress and development while maintaining flexibility in your schedule. The role is immediate and runs through June 12, 2026.
In this unique opportunity, you'll start by supporting one student for a few hours each week with the intent to gradually increase their time in the classroom, while also providing assistance to additional special education students and classrooms throughout the week.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Washington State Special Education teaching license and certification are required
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education teacher in a school-based setting
- Strong ability to adapt, collaborate, and communicate with students, staff, and families
- Genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Flexibility to adjust to different days and times as the schedule is finalized
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs
- Implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, other SPED staff, and support personnel
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to ensure student growth and achievement
- Document progress and communicate regularly with families and the school team
- Create a positive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
