A school social worker position is available at an elementary school in Spring Lake, MI. This contract role is onsite and runs immediately through June 5th, serving approximately 40 students.
Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic evaluations, writing detailed reports, and actively participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings with parents and school teams. The social worker will report on student progress regularly and develop data collection systems to support functional assessments and positive behavior interventions. Analyzing and graphing student data to track progress will be part of the daily workflow. Additionally, the role involves contributing to professional development activities focused on school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Qualifications required for this role include a Masters Degree from a Michigan Department of Education (MDE)-approved graduate social work program, including a minimum of 500 supervised practicum hours. Candidates must have temporary, continuing temporary, or full approval by the MDE Office of Special Education to be eligible.
