Sign Language Interpreter

Completion of an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP), active Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification, and 1 years Interpreter experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Paraprofessional (ASL Fluent) – Elementary School

Soliant is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) for a 1:1 position with an elementary student in Mission Viejo, CA. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide individualized support and help a student fully access their education in a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to an elementary student using American Sign Language (ASL)
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Assist with classroom activities and instructional support
• Reinforce lessons and help implement teacher-directed plans
• Support the student’s social, behavioral, and academic development
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Work Hours

• Monday–Friday, school-day schedule
• 30–35 hours per week

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
• Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing is a plus

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma required
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred
