This contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a program uniquely designed for teens with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences, helping them develop communication and life skills that foster independence. The assignment will be based at a high school within a supportive program known for its collaborative approach and individualized learning plans.
Key Qualifications:
- Current SLP license in accordance with state requirements
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Demonstrated experience or familiarity with school-aged populations, specifically high school students
- Strong background utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
- Previous supervision experience of SLPAs highly desirable
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech/language services to high school students in a specialized educational setting
- Supervise and support a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and families, to foster student success
- Integrate AAC devices and strategies into student programming
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all federal, state, and program guidelines
