The role supports an entire district of fewer than 500 students, all conveniently located within a single rural building, fostering meaningful relationships with both staff and students.
Ideal Background & Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure to practice as a School Psychologist
- Experience or comfort working in rural or smaller school districts
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and administration
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Compassion, adaptability, and strong communication abilities
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments
- Consult with teachers, counselors, and families to develop effective interventions and support systems
- Develop and monitor IEPs for students with identified needs
- Offer individual and group counseling to promote students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being
- Deliver crisis intervention and contribute to proactive safety planning
- Participate actively in problem-solving teams and data-driven decision-making
- Serve as a trusted resource for students, staff, and families within the district
