Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California Physical Therapist license and current credentials required
- Previous experience in school-based settings or pediatric populations highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, goal-setting, and progress documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and creativity in delivering physical therapy services
- Commitment to fostering inclusive participation and student success
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough student assessments to determine physical therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans within the educational setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including teachers, OTs, and other support staff—to ensure cohesive student support
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, compliant documentation of services and progress
- Educate school staff and family members on student needs and strategies
- Utilize assistive devices and mobility equipment as appropriate
- Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages each student’s participation and progress
