Position Overview
A dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher is sought to support students in a mental health/behavior self-contained program for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing structured, individualized support to students with behavioral and emotional needs while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
Assignment Details
- School Year: September 1, 2026 – June 16, 2027
- Schedule: 32.5–35 hours per week
- School Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:20 PM
Caseload
- Approximately 10–16 students in a mental health/behavior self-contained program
- Responsibilities include evaluations, case management, report writing, and attending meetings
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students’ academic and behavioral needs
- Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support strategies in a self-contained classroom
- Conduct student evaluations and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Manage case load, including progress monitoring and reporting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including staff, families, and related service providers
- Participate in meetings, including IEP and team planning sessions
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire (NH) Teaching License required
- Experience working with students in mental health and/or behavioral programs preferred
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
