Job Description:
Our client is seeking a hands‑on, growth‑minded Accounting Manager who can evolve into a future Controller and ultimately CFO. This individual will bring structure, leadership, and accountability to accounting operations while serving as the key link between the Troy‑based leadership team and the India‑based accounting organization.
This is a high‑impact, operational role—not a traditional month‑end‑only position. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, and acting as both a strategic partner and an execution‑driven operator.
The Accounting Manager will initially work closely with the President and acting CFO, then transition within 2–3 months into leading the India‑based accounting team, including accounting leadership and AR/AP staff. Over time, this individual will assume increasing ownership of financial operations and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead global accounting coordination — Serve as the primary bridge between Troy leadership and the India accounting team to improve communication, accountability, and daily execution.
- Oversee India accounting team — Provide leadership to the Global Finance Manager, Global Accounting Manager, and AR/AP staff.
- Strengthen core accounting operations — Drive proactive accounting practices, oversee month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting accuracy.
- Improve AR/AP processes — Implement structured, efficient workflows to improve collections, vendor communication, and issue resolution.
- Advance systems and automation — Reduce manual workarounds by leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central and internal ERP tools to enhance reporting visibility.
- Drive financial insight and decision support — Improve real‑time financial visibility, support leadership with operational insights, and identify process improvement opportunities.
