Outdoor Lighting & Irrigation Technician

This position focuses primarily on low-voltage outdoor lighting installation and service, with the flexibility to assist in irrigation service during peak seasons.

This position focuses primarily on low-voltage outdoor lighting installation and service, with the flexibility to assist in irrigation service during peak seasons.
What You’ll Do
Outdoor Lighting (Primary Focus)
- Install low-voltage lighting systems including fixtures, wiring, transformers, and timers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot lighting failures and wiring issues
- Perform lighting system inspections and maintenance
- Read and execute lighting designs accurately
- Educate homeowners on system operation and maintenance
- Assist in training team members on lighting fundamentals
- Perform spring start-ups and winterizations
- Diagnose and repair leaks, valves, heads, controllers, and wiring
- Install irrigation controllers and rain sensors
- Complete repairs efficiently and professionally
- Explain findings and repair options clearly to homeowners
- Present pricing prior to performing work
- Document work completed in CRM software
- Collect payment upon job completion
- Maintain a clean and professional job site
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Professional communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Comfortable working on ladders up to 50 feet
- Comfortable performing work in and around Washington, DC
- Electrical experience
- Irrigation or backflow certifications
- Experience using hand tools, trenching equipment, or performing landscape work
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to dig and trench when required
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work outdoors daily
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions including rain, heat, and cold
