The Material Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for movement of in process parts, finished goods, and supplies on the production floor to maintain workflow, productivity, and safety.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, productions, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks materials by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.
• Stages and preps work for paint, verifies all material is there.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, replaces liquefied gas tank.
• Must use caution when transporting parts to avoid breakage, damage or scratches.
• Responsible to review all necessary paperwork pertaining to transporting load to the proper department or next operation.
• Organize and maintain stocked materials.
• Assists in manufacturing areas as needed.
• Daily inspection and recording of forklift inspection.
• Monitors work assignments and communicate any concerns.
• Assist paint with other daily tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, manufacturing experience preferred.
• 5 - 7 years of forklift experience
• 2 - 5 years of material handler experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Able to execute multiple tasks at one time in a high passed environment
• High attention to detail

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 75 pounds, occasionally maneuver through pushing or pulling greater than 75 pounds. Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
