Position Summary:
The Cutting Flex Operator (Lasers, Salvagnini, CNC Punch, Waterjet) will be responsible for loading and unloading raw material for cutting and unloading of finished product. Responsible for the routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. The Cutting Flex Operator will work with various machines, tools, and fabrication processes to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts on laser cutters, Salvagnini systems, CNC punch machines, and waterjet equipment.
- Sort by work order and part number and place them in bins to prepare for forming or warehouse for storage.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and tolerances. Adjust and repairs as needed.
- Work closely with engineers, production staff, and supervisors to meet production goals, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely project completion.
- Keep accurate records of material usage, project timelines, and production output. Report issues or inconsistencies to management.
- Loads clearance dies per requirements. Selects, positions, and fastens punches and dies in machine
- Set up machine by selecting proper program and tooling, adjust programming as needed. Understands and comprehends programming codes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Machine Operation: Safely operates laser, Salvagnini, CNC punch, and waterjet equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrates strong understanding of machine functions, tooling, and fabrication processes.
- Quality Focus: Inspects parts to ensure compliance with dimensional tolerances, quality standards, and customer specifications.

- Material Handling: Safely loads, unloads, and transports raw materials and finished products using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy in machine setup, production, documentation, and quality inspections.
- Problem Solving: Identifies production issues and implements appropriate corrective actions or escalates concerns when necessary.
- Productivity & Time Management: Prioritizes work effectively to meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Computer Skills: Uses production software and computer systems for work orders, machine operation, and production documentation.
- Communication: Communicates effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members regarding production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues.

Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 75 pounds, occasionally maneuver through lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 75 pounds. Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training related to CNC machine, Laser, Salvagnini operation or manufacturing experience of 3 years preferred.
- Experience in metal fabrication.
- Ability to operate a forklift with previous experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer software for documentation.
