About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP ASE / Sybase Database Administrator (DBA) to support and maintain enterprise-level database environments for mission-critical systems. This role requires deep expertise in SAP ASE/Sybase administration, performance optimization, and database reliability, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain SAP ASE / Sybase database environments
- Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability to ensure high reliability and uptime
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and root cause analysis
- Manage database security, user access controls, and compliance with internal standards
- Support database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Apply patches, upgrades, and routine maintenance to database systems
- Collaborate with application developers, system engineers, and architects to support enterprise solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues across development, test, and production environments
- Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- LCAT/Level: Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, Senior
- Extensive experience administering SAP ASE / Sybase databases in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Solid understanding of database security best practices
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
