What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregivers/Personal Life and Health Assistants position at Private Household?
Hiring: Experienced Caregiver Personal Life and Health Assistant
Both hands-on care AND home management tasks required
North Providence, RI | $21/hour through a state care program
Seeking experienced, nurturing caregivers for Jenna, 41, who is completely bedbound and severely ill with EDS, MCAS, tethered cord, and many other conditions. Having experience with these conditions is a plus! (Full list of conditions below). This hands-on role combines safe transfers and personal care—including toileting and bathing—with emotional support, substantial cooking, cleaning, organizing, and helping manage her home and daily needs. CNA training or substantial caregiving experience, physical strength, initiative, basic phone/computer skills, and a reliable car are required. Applicants must enjoy cooking and be willing to learn vegan, gluten-safe, allergy-aware, low-histamine meal preparation.
Jenna’s MCAS can make her violently ill from fragrances, chemicals, and smoke: caregivers must be non-smokers, avoid smoke exposure, and arrive completely free of scented products and smoke odors. She also needs gentle, quiet care because sound, light, and speaking can worsen her symptoms.
We’re looking for compassionate, trustworthy, organized people who can learn her routines, respect her limits, and work with her care team. Scheduling and trial shifts will be discussed during interviews; please read the full details below and contact Claudia at 415-272-1219.
Shifts up to 12 hours (11½ paid, with a 30-minute break); 57.5 weekly hours shared among caregivers, maximum 40 per person. Daytime and overnights. Application, background checks ($45 fee). Seeking part-time, full-time, & back up/on call/emergency shifts.
