What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Grade Learning Mentor/Tutor position at Private Household?
We are looking for a warm, friendly, and patient tutor to support our 3rd grade child in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as an after-school learning mentor. More than just homework help, we hope to find a long term mentor who can help build strong study habits, confidence, and a love of learning over time!
Responsibilities:
- Homework support
- Book reading, Writing & Math support
- Basic review of NYC elementary school curriculum
- Conversations
- Encouraging good study habits and confidence
Schedule:
- 1–2 times per week
- 1 hour × 2 days or 2 hours × 1 day
- Afterschool hours (Mon / Thu / Fri preferred)
Location:
- Williamsburg (near L train)
- Home, apartment lounge, or nearby library
Pay:
- $25-50/hour depending on experience
- Additional pay for after-school pick-up (big plus, not necessarily)
Ideal Candidate:
- College students, certified teachers, or individuals pursuing a degree in education or related fields.
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
