We're partnering with a global, industry-leading consumer products organization to identify an experienced Senior Compensation Manager to support North America Operations and Procurement. This is an exciting opportunity for a compensation professional with deep expertise in manufacturing and operations compensation who enjoys partnering with senior leaders, driving strategic compensation initiatives, and influencing enterprise-wide decisions.
The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable leading complex compensation programs across both hourly (union and non-union) and salaried employee populations in a large, multi-site manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation programs for hourly and salaried employees across North America.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to provide strategic guidance on compensation planning, job evaluations, market pricing, salary recommendations, and incentive programs.
- Support the redesign and administration of salary structures across the U.S. and Canada.
- Evaluate and improve hourly incentive plan effectiveness and payout strategies.
- Manage annual salary planning and incentive compensation cycles.
- Conduct market analyses, salary benchmarking, and compensation research to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
- Perform job evaluations for broad-based and leadership positions.
- Participate in salary surveys and support salary structure development across multiple countries.
- Design and deliver compensation-related training for HR and business leaders.
- Recommend process improvements, policy enhancements, and compensation best practices that support a pay-for-performance culture.
- Lead cross-functional compensation initiatives while influencing stakeholders across HR, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5 years of progressive compensation experience, with significant expertise supporting manufacturing and operations organizations.
- Experience designing compensation programs for both hourly (union and non-union) and salaried employee populations.
- Strong understanding of compensation strategy, market pricing, salary structures, incentive design, and job evaluation methodologies.
- Experience supporting large, multi-site manufacturing organizations with varying compensation strategies.
- Korn Ferry Hay job evaluation experience is highly preferred.
- Prior leadership or people management experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex compensation data.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other HR certification is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Compensation strategy within complex manufacturing or operations environments.
- Annual salary structure redesign and compensation planning.
- Market analytics and compensation benchmarking.
- Incentive compensation design and administration.
- Change leadership within HR Centers of Excellence (COE) or shared services organizations.
- Global compensation experience with the ability to balance enterprise consistency and local market needs.
