Construction Contractor is a reputable construction company specializing in commercial projects across California located in North Bay. We are committed to delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget through collaboration, planning, and execution.
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects. This role plays a critical part in the bidding process by analyzing plans, specifications, and requirements, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring all bid components are complete and submitted on time.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and accurate cost estimates
- Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
- Determine labor, material, and equipment costs
- Prepare conceptual estimates
- Maintain bid schedules and ensure timely submissions
- Compare and analyze competitive trade bids
- Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager
- Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)
- Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors
- Compile and complete all bid documents, including bid forms and quote packages
- Assist project teams with estimate related questions after award
- Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)
- Maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors
- Supervise and train estimating staff (if applicable)
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years Estimating experience
- Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
- Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations
- Working knowledge of construction costs and principles
- Estimating experience (quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting; engineering design knowledge and project management experience desirable)
- Drafting and computer skills
- This position requires full time onsite presence.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
