Summary of Position
We’re looking for a hands-on Account Manager to own our day-to-day financial operations while bringing clarity, accuracy, and consistency to our numbers. This role is responsible for managing core accounting functions; including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close, while providing steady visibility into cash flow and financial performance.
This is currently a single-seat finance role, so you’ll be both the doer and the system-builder: processing transactions, keeping the books clean, and improving the processes that support AR, AP, and cash management. You’ll partner closely with the Owner and collaborate with our external CPA/tax firm to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Own the full cycle bookkeeping function. Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online with precision and consistency. Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Maintain the general ledger and ensure that all data is current, accurate, and aligned with the company's financial processes.
- Banking: Manage banking relationships and monitor account balances to ensure appropriate cash flow. Handle deposits, transfers, and disbursements in a timely and accurate manner. Safeguard financial assets by providing secure and compliant handling of all banking activities.
- Financial Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile all accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and payroll liabilities, to identify and resolve discrepancies. Conduct monthly and quarterly closing procedures. Ensure that all financial records match internal documentation and external statements.
- Financial Reports: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements. Generate customized financial reports that support leadership in making data-driven decisions. Monthly financial statements (P & L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Provide forecasting and budgeting. Maintain reporting schedules and assist with audits or ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
- Federal, State, and Local Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Accurately process and report taxes, payroll filings, and other compliance-related documentation. Stay current on regulatory changes and company policies to reduce risk and maintain audit readiness.
- Communication and Collaboration: The Account Manager must demonstrate clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. This role requires the ability to clearly and concisely explain financial information in a manner that is easily understood by non-financial team members, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Strong communication is essential for collaborating with colleagues, responding to vendor or client inquiries, and ensuring a smooth flow of information across departments.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- An Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 5 years of previous bookkeeping experience.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Experience with Excel Spreadsheets.
- Excellent reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, along with attention to detail, are required.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills are essential for managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication with employees, clients, and business contacts.
- Proficient in leveraging AI-powered tools and platforms to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Must be able to proofread one’s own work and the work of others.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The job is usually performed indoors in a traditional office setting. The position is a hybrid in-office role, with standard hours of work and days being 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is based in the office from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Occasional local travel may be required.

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
