Key Responsibilities & Leadership Focus
You will serve as the primary on-site leader, ensuring every project meets the highest standards for safety, code compliance, and quality.
- Field Leadership & Compliance:
- Provide daily supervision and guidance to field technicians performing installations, service, and inspections.
- Ensure all work strictly adheres to NFPA 72, manufacturer requirements, and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) standards.
- Conduct rigorous site visits to audit work quality, documentation accuracy, and overall technical alignment.
- Technician Coaching & Development:
- Meet with each technician at least twice monthly for structured field-based coaching.
- Provide detailed feedback to enhance troubleshooting skills, communication, and professional conduct.
- Lead monthly in-office training sessions focused on technical skill development.
- Operational & Quality Oversight:
- Partner with Engineering and Project Management to validate accurate scopes and efficient execution.
- Document all field activity, updates, and findings accurately in the service management system.
- Enforce high standards for quality, safety practices, and achieve a 95% on-time arrival rate for the field team.
- Ensure projects meet labor budget goals through effective planning and field discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm installation, service, or inspection.
- Technical Authority: Deep understanding of NFPA 72 and local fire alarm/AHJ requirements.
- Leadership: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, or train technical field staff in a structured environment.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities across both conventional and addressable systems, excellent documentation habits, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: NICET II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Experience with EST/Edwards systems.
