What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Priority Plastics?
Summary:
We are seeking detail-oriented and energetic Quality Inspectors to join our team. The Quality Inspector supports the quality department by performing required quality checks to ensure products meet the company and customer quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs quality checks and measurements to verify that products meet quality standards as defined by both the company and its customers.
- Follows control of non-conforming ware and communication procedures.
- Quarantines suspect/defective products.
- Collects, records, organizes, and distributes quality-related information as required to Manufacturing/Engineering, Sales and management.
- Shall report any Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) concerns to the appropriate personnel with authority to correct the issues found.
- Performs first piece inspection and releases product for production, including expedited UN testing.
- Performs raw material testing.
- Assists in training production employees on the quality systems, quality requirements and reaction plans, as needed.
- Performs quality data entry into data collection system (InfinityQS) and reacts accordingly to the alarms/warnings from the data collection system.
- Creates and uses limit sample boards as guidelines to make product decisions.
- Communicates and documents shift activity, including special instructions, performance concerns, and other issues to the upcoming/next shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED education required. Vocational training or Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in quality control or quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate with team members effectively.
- Strong computer, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
